HELAU-O-MAT
Mainz University of Applied Sciences took part in the famous “Rosenmontag” parade for the first time in 2024 with an interdisciplinary project. The aim was to reinterpret the traditional Mainz carnival and interact with the spectators, who were able to help shape the float through their active participation. LED panels and inflatable air bodies translated the volume level of the audience into the appearance of the carnival wagon. The float is pulled by muscle power with a bicycle for 12 people. The costumes designed by the team were made from clothing donations.
