PLANK
The starting product for PLANK is wooden scaffolding planks, which are taken back by the manufacturer after years of use and given a second life as furniture. In terms of design and function, the table and bench are based on scaffolding – the original purpose of the solid wooden planks. The sandblasted, powder-coated tubular steel base echoes the design features of scaffolding. Details such as the integrated height adjusters and the use of scaffolding sleeves to hold the planks create a technical link to the original product. Just like scaffolding, the planks are simply laid on and not bolted to the base frame – so PLANK can be transported and build by one person.
